Electronic Curtain Control

The curtains are electronically controlled...presumably for convenience right?

So why put a great big desk in front of the controller? Hello? You have to stretch to hit the buttons whereas it would be MUCH easier to open and close manually...except that probably breaks the mechanism.

Fan switch position

At some point in time, a previous tenant decided to install ceiling fans into each room. This is a great idea since you don't always need to run air conditioning.

But can you see the stoopid design decision that was made:



Yes, the doorway is to the right, which is where you enter the room. Generally speaking, I find I wish to use the light when it is dark, which generally means feeling along the wall to find the switch..... so why 'hide' the light switch behind the new fan control?

The approach of feeling along the wall in the dark is almost completely foiled. Not only that, but because the control unit sticks out so far, it requires that you approach the light switch from a more front on angle. This means stepping into.the dark room and potentially navigating around whatever furniture is place beneath the switch and fan control.

This stoopid design wasn't a one off either. EVERY room that has had a fan installed is the same!
